With Air Canada there is an option to avoid the high cost and dogs, cats and some other animals may be transported as checked in baggage for around $270 (2014) per animal. However, you must arrange your own veterinary paperwork and pre-register the pet with the airline. This is a relatively easy process and well worth the effort. Importing and Exporting
As Great Britain is a rabies-free country there are no longer any quarantine requirements in Canada but to ensure a trouble free experience certain documentation is required such as an up to date EU Pet Passport, Certificate of Freedom from Rabies, a letter from a vet stating the animal is fit to fly and the vets inoculation and treatment card is also recommended.
